WEBAIR Aviation Training Inc., founded by pilot and FAA Gold Seal Flight Instructor Rich Weber, provides on-site training, tailored to your organization’s specific mission/needs. We provide ground and flight training in airplanes and helicopters for all certificates and ratings. Instrument training from initial to re-currency on a bi-annual basis in either airplanes or helicopters, allows the pilot to maintain the level of proficiency needed for safe flight. We also provide Garmin GNS430/530, GTN 650/750 GPS training to enhance your knowledge, skill and confidence level.
We specialize in a helicopter specific course and an airplane specific course on Spatial Disorientation (SD) for pilots and crew members. The foundation of the spatial disorientation training is a comprehensive block of instruction which starts out with a background on SD and progresses into class participation/training and enhanced with specific, practical videos. Follow-up flight training to accompany the spatial disorientation ground training can be provided to build the proficiency and confidence needed to enhance safe flight.WEBAIR Aviation Training
Instrument Training-
We provide on-site flight training in your aircraft, tailored to your specific needs. We provide a basic inadvertent IMC course, initial instrument rating, instrument proficiency check (IPC) and refresher training to enhance pilot’s instrument skills and proficiency to a higher, safer level. Train in actual instrument meteorological conditions (weather permitting) in a training environment and gain the experience you need, to safely use those learned skills later.
Spatial Disorientation (SD) Training-
Training is based on the factors, causes, types and prevention of spatial disorientation. This training educates the pilots and crewmembers on spatial disorientation and better prepares them for a spatial disorientation encounter.
The Classroom
§ Subject-specific information provides the knowledge needed
§ Practical exercises provide a realistic understanding of SD
§ Gain knowledge of how Night Vision Goggles (NVG’s) relate to SD
Flight Training
§ Allows the Pilot and Crewmembers to better understanding the effects of SD
through a practical application and how to recognize the onset of SD.
§ Minimal flight time required to demonstrate the maneuvers
§ Crewmember(s) can accompany the pilot from the crewmember station(s)
SD Safety
The goal of WEBAIR Aviation Training is to promote safety and make flying safer for all pilots in the industry. WEBAIR Aviation Training has provided spatial disorientation training in the United States and Canada for the following types of operators:
§ Law Enforcement Aviation Units
§ A major Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Operator
Spatial Disorientation training is not limited to just those operators, but includes ALL types of operators:
§ Gas/Oil Offshore Operators
§ Corporate
§ Charter
§ Firefighting
§ Spray Applicators
Part of the prevention of spatial disorientation is developing and retaining instrument flying skills. Once these skills are learned, it is imperative that refresher training take place regularly. Without regular refresher training, these skills will diminish and should an inadvertent instrument meteorological condition (IMC) event occur, the pilot may not have the skill and mindset to overcome the event.
